Biology pairs most naturally with Chemistry — together they're the standard foundation for medicine, dentistry, pharmacy and the life sciences, and the two genuinely reinforce each other. When NOT to take Biology
An honest guide has to include the cases where Biology is the wrong choice, because forcing it helps no one. Consider leaving it out when your child has a clear, settled interest in a field that doesn't need it — pure engineering, computing, mathematics, economics or the humanities — and would be better served by a stronger Physics or another subject they'll genuinely commit to.
Also be cautious if your child already struggles to keep up with the volume of work across their current subjects. Biology's content load is real, and adding it to a plate that's already overflowing can drag down their other grades. The goal is the best overall set of results, not the longest list of subjects.
