This website is operated as IGCSEBiology.com.my. This notice explains what personal data may be received through the website and tutoring enquiries, why it is used and how a person can contact us about it. We aim to handle personal data in line with applicable Malaysian requirements, including the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (Act 709), as amended.
Personal data we may receive
- WhatsApp enquiries: a person may share a name, phone number, student year, school, Core or Extended route, current grade, target, preferred schedule and other information chosen in the conversation.
- Tuition administration: when classes are arranged, information may include schedules, lesson records, learning priorities, materials shared for teaching and payment or transaction references.
- Website analytics: Google Analytics 4 is configured to provide aggregate information such as pages viewed, device type and approximate location. It does not provide the tutoring team with a visitor’s name or WhatsApp number.
Why the data is used
- To respond to an enquiry and determine whether the service is suitable.
- To assign a tutor, arrange lessons and communicate about scheduling.
- To support teaching, including reviewing work shared by the student or parent.
- To administer payments, maintain appropriate records and address service issues.
- To meet applicable legal, regulatory or safeguarding responsibilities.

Services that may process data
Enquiries are handled through WhatsApp, which is operated by a third party under its own terms and privacy practices. Website hosting and technical providers may process limited server or security data needed to deliver the site. When analytics is enabled, the relevant analytics provider may also process usage data.
Sharing personal data
Personal data is not sold or rented. It may be shared only where reasonably necessary to operate the tutoring service, such as with the assigned tutor or a technical provider, or where disclosure is required or permitted by applicable law. Tutors should receive only the information needed to prepare and teach.
Children and student information
Many students are under 18. Enrolment, payment and primary service communication should involve a parent or guardian. Parents should avoid sharing more student information than is needed for teaching and scheduling.
Data retention and security
Information is kept only for as long as reasonably needed for the enquiry, teaching arrangement, administration, dispute handling or applicable record-keeping requirements. Reasonable organisational and device-security measures are used, but no online or messaging system can be guaranteed completely secure.
Access, correction and other requests
A person may contact us to ask what personal data is held, request a correction or raise another privacy concern. Requests will be assessed and handled in accordance with the circumstances and applicable law. Use the same WhatsApp contact and identify the request as a privacy matter.
