Mitosis

Definition
Nuclear division that produces two genetically identical daughter cells with the same number of chromosomes as the parent cell. Used for growth, repair of damaged tissue, replacement of cells, and asexual reproduction.
What to include in an exam answer
'Genetically identical' is the phrase that pays. Pair it with its uses, growth, repair, replacement, asexual reproduction, because 'state two uses of mitosis' is a recurring 2-marker.
